The gigs, supported by a grant from the Jazz Services Support Scheme, will also feature Steve Lodder on piano, Fred Baker on bass and Tony Marsh on drums. Beckett, whose contribution to UK jazz has been extensive over the last two decades, has played with many elite jazz musicians from Stan Tracey, Mike Osborne, John Surman, Ronnie Scott, John Taylor and more. 07.08.06 Henri Texier and Gwyneth Herbert for Coventry Jazz FestivalHerbie Hancock To Top London Jazz Festival Bill With Festival Hall and Barbican ConcertsHerbie Hancock will head this year’s London Jazz Festival, his first London dates in two years. Held in association with BBC Radio 3, the London Jazz Festival is to run from Friday 14 November to Sunday 23 November across most major London concert halls, including the Royal Festival Hall, the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room, the Barbican and Kings Place, the major new arts and culture venue at King’s Cross. Herbie Hancock is the first artist to be announced for the festival and he will play special concerts at both the Southbank’s RFH (on 15 November) and the Barbican (19 November).
