The DVD includes:
Exercises for releasing tension in back, neck, shoulders and arms; a study of how to use the body at an instrument; playing from the back; sitting and standing posture; 20 minute daily programme of traditional yoga postures; breathing; relaxation; instrumental examples. The DVD has been timed so that the exercises can be performed regularly whilst watching. The card insert lists the benefits and precautions of each posture.

Penelope Roskill is an international concert pianist and Professor of Piano at Trinity College of Music. She has over twenty years' experience of yoga and has taught regular classes in Yoga for Musicians at the Performing Arts Clinic, Royal Academy of Music and Trinity College of Music.

Great attention is given to detail, with clear explanations of the benefits of each exercise, how to combine the movements with the breath, and how many times to repeat the movement. The pace of the presentation is well judged. Using this DVD with pupils, or teaching a few of the given exercises to a pupil as part of a warm-up, could be hugely beneficial…an excellent introduction to yoga for musicians. - Music Teacher
