Jazzwise and Courtney Pine Global podcast join forces for new partnership

The revered saxophonist and broadcaster, and longstanding friend of the magazine, launched the Courtney Pine Global podcast (CPG) in February 2022 with production team Jazz Pod, a partnership between Pine and producers Sarah Stringer and Stevie Cripps, (who were responsible for producing the saxophonist’s BBC Radio 2 series Jazz Crusade, which ran during the 2010s) aiming to “promote the musicians and music he’s passionate about”. This frequently includes vibrant selections of new latin, funk, fusion, big band and global influenced jazz, and one year on, the show, has gone from strength to strength with impressive listening figures across all digital platforms and the www.jazz-pod.com website.

The Jazzwise partnership launches with Episode 30 which is now live and features a suitably eclectic playlist of new tracks by Shakti, Peter Kogan, The Comet is Coming, Kneebody, Chris Santo Cobden, Cosmic Renaissance, Ubunye and Anat Cohen among others. Going out as two hour-long episodes and two ‘bitesize’ editions on alternating Tuesdays each month, Jazzwise readers will be able to listen to each episode on the www.jazzwise.com website – where a new ‘Podcast’ homepage can easily be located on the main toolbar of the site with new episodes posted each week and past shows archived for continuous listening – for free!
