All those who want to snap up a piece of British jazz history should log on to the eBay website charity section from 24 April. Following the closure of Ronnie Scott’s club for refurbishment in mid-March many of the fixtures and fittings, including tables, chairs, table clothes and table lamps, have been put up for auction to benefit Cancer Bacup. Don’t go looking for the stunning collection of framed jazz photos that lined the club’s walls though. They are all being cleaned, re-framed and put back in their hallowed places. Meanwhile tickets are now on sale for the re-opening from late June onwards including Mike Stern, Kenny Garrett, Kyle Eastwood, Billy Cobham and very possibly Wynton Marsalis…
