May Day is an important date for many reasons and this year you can add the fact that it was the very day when the Live Music Licensing Petition advanced to the number one spot in a list of over 7,400 petitions on the Number 10 Downing Street website with a staggering 71,000 signatures, all complaining about the current Draconian licensing laws. So add your name here!

For those who have been asleep for the past few years the current laws permit pubs and bars to have hordes of boisterous beered-up football fans screaming at giant TV screens without an entertainment license yet demand the venue obtains a licence for even a single musician to play. Please add your vote if you care about the future of live music in the UK and don’t forget to add your name to the petition to keep The Spitz club in east London open, as covered in the news pages…
