Mike Tracy - Tenor Saxophone

Mike Tracy has performed with Buddy Rich and Ella Fitzgerald. As a Fulbright Senior Specialist, he recently helped to establish a jazz programme at the Estonian Music Academy in Tallinn, Estonia. He also taught and performed in more than thirty countries and recently coordinated jazz workshops in Brazil and Argentina.

He is the Director of the Jazz Program at Louisville University and has developed a variety of innovative approaches to jazz education. He has been a faculty member of Jamey Aebersold's Summer Jazz Workshops for over 30 years.

Mike just completed *Conservation*, a jazz duo recording with pianist Harry Pickens and like his other recordings *Gustings* and *Tracings* is available on SeaBreeze. His CD *Facets* features the saxophone in both classical and jazz styles.

Mike is also the author of Jazz Piano Voicings for the Non-Pianist and co-author of ‘Pocket Changes’ and ‘Pocket Changes II.’
