Miles Ahead preview screening and Q&A at Rio Cinema, Dalston

In anticipation of its official opening in UK cinemas next Friday, Don Cheadle's new impressionistic Miles Davis film, Miles Ahead, has an exclusive preview screening at the Rio Cinema in Dalston this Sunday 17 April at 3pm.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A panel hosted by writer and broadcaster Kevin LeGendre and featuring Jazzwise writer Selwyn Harris (who interviewed director Cheadle for the May issue of Jazzwise, on sale on 22 April), Miles biographer George Cole and film critic Trevor Johnston.
Put together by new events-based 'Jazz on Film' producer Offbeat alongside the Rio and Vortex Jazz Club, a live music after-party follows the screening across the road at the Vortex downstairs bar with further riffing on the Miles theme with a quartet led by local Austrian-born guitarist Hannes Riepler and a pair of special guests and prime movers on the Brooklyn jazz scene in the form of saxophonist Noah Preminger and drummer Rob Garcia as well as the in-demand London-based double bassist Oli Hayhurst.
