Alex Wilson Trio and Afro-Cuban Jazz Sessions for London Latin Jazz Festival

This year's London Latin Jazz Festival takes place from 23 September to 25 September at Pizza Express Jazz Club, Soho and will be hosted by pianist Alex Wilson

This year's London Latin Jazz Festival takes place from 23 September to 25 September at Pizza Express Jazz Club, Dean Street, Soho and will be hosted by pianist Alex Wilson (pictured) who returns to the festival topping a bill which has been curated by festival regular Eliane Correa, who is unable to perform due to touring issues. Now in its eighth year the festival is slightly shorter for the 2021 edition due to restrictions caused by Covid and the lack of European and American artists.

Leading salsa vibes player Dorancé Lorza & Sexteto Café launch the festival on Thursday 23 September at 8pm and celebrate the release of their latest album Veinte Aniversario with special guests and a string quartet.

The Alex Wilson Trio, including percussionist Edwin Sanz and bassist Dimitris Christopoulos plus special guests guitarist Omar Ríos Mélendez and singer Unnatti Desgupta play two shows on Friday 24 September at 7pm and 10 pm.

The Cuban ensemble Latin Bridge Quartet play the afternoon spot on Saturday 25 September at 1.30pm while the Afro-Cuban Jazz Sessions lead by percussionist Hammadi Valdés collaborate with the UK-based jazz into African and grime band Neue Grafik ensemble play two shows at 7pm and 10pm
