First wave of names announced for next summer’s jazz, soul and funk extravaganza at Glynde Place from 5 to 7 July

Following Love Supreme Jazz Festival’s 10th anniversary edition last year, the event returns next summer to Glynde Place in East Sussex with another strong line-up mixing top names from across the worlds of jazz, soul, funk and R&B.

Main stage stars topping the bill include 10-time Grammy Award-winning vocal icon Chaka Khan, whose Sunday night headline spot coincides with her celebrating 50 years in music next year, while the 70 million-selling US funk outfit Kool & The Gang are also set to appear.

The bill also includes multi-Grammy-winning US vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant; revered multi-instrumentalist, singer songwriter Meshell Ndegeocello; Mercury-nominated Scottish pianist and Jazz FM Instrumentalist of the Year Fergus McCreadie; sensational Japanese pianist Hiromi with her Sonicwonder fusion band; the jazz-meets-percussion-powered Balimaya Project; hard-grooving Blue Note-signed drummer Johnathan Blake; top US bass boss Christian McBride; and fusion drum star Billy Cobham (who will perform at Love Supreme shortly after celebrating his 80th birthday) are all announced for the 2024 programme.

Also announced are powerhouse UK vocalist Joss Stone, Brazilian pianist composer, and bandleader Sergio Mendes, acclaimed London-based Australian soul singer Jordan Rakei, British R&B star Mahalia, US psychedelic soul band Black Pumas, the trailblazing, inspirational husband and wife vocal duo The War & Treaty and Grammy-winning blues guitar and vocal star Christone 'Kingfish' Ingram.
