Brooklyn Pianist Elan Mehler Makes UK Debut

Discovered by DJ Gilles Peterson performing in a Swiss spa resort hotel US pianist Elan Mehler makes his debut in London tonight with a gig at the Vortex in Dalston.
But that's not all, because as part of a blitz of gigs organised by his label Brownswood to help promote debut album Scheme For Thought Elan and the drummerless quartet, dominated by the mournful saxophone of Andrew Zimmerman, will also perform at Ray's Jazz on 4 September (6pm), the Brook Green Hotel W6 also 4 September, Mau Mau's, Portobello Rd, 6 September, and the Sunset Sessions, Front Room QEH, 7 September.
