Conference of The Trees – Jazz All Dayer at Ropetackle Arts Centre, Shoreham by Sea

There’s a packed programme of south coast jazz talent at this all-day mini-jazz fest organised and featuring bassist Terry Pack and headlined by jazz-folk group The Cloggz

South coast bassist Terry Pack (pictured below), who leads Trees large jazz ensemble and was a former member of prog-rock band The Enid, has put together a special all-day festival, Conference of The Trees, at the Ropetackle Arts Centre in Shoreham by Sea, Sussex on Saturday 22 January.

Featuring bands led by and including musicians that have played with Trees since it was formed in 2015, including keyboardists Mark Edwards, Tom Phelan and Joss Peach, saxophonists Julian Nicholas, Hilary Burt, trombonist Mark Bassey, drummers Darren Beckett and Milo Fell and singers Imogen Ryall, Lucy Pickering and Sara Oshlag, the programme includes ticketed afternoon and evening performances in the Ropetackle auditorium and free performances in the foyer and bar space.

The afternoon session programme includes: GIN Trio featuring Greg Maddocks (1pm, foyer); Hilary Burt's Blue Calluna (2pm, auditorium); Terry Pack, Jos Peach and Milo Fell (3pm, foyer); Mingus Underground featuring Mark Bassey and Sara Oshlag (4pm, auditorium).

The evening programme is as follows: Butaxaca featuring Andy Pickett (6pm, foyer); Bonsai featuring Terry Pack and Tom Phelan (7.15pm, auditorium); Lucy Pickering's Court and Spark (8pm, foyer); The Cloggz featuring Mark Edwards, Julian Nicholas, Imogen Ryall and Darren Beckett (9.45pm, auditorium). Tickets for the afternoon and evening auditorium session are £25 each or £40 for both.
