Diana Krall returns with a new album, This Dream Of You, which is due for release on Verve records on 25 September.

It’s her first release since 2017’s Turn Up The Quiet and her duo set with Tony Bennett Love Is here To Stay from 2018, and is titled after her interpretation of the Bob Dylan song that appeared on his 2009 album Together Through Life.

The multiple Grammy award-winning singer and pianist began tracking her new album in 2016 with long-time friend and producer Tommy LiPuma, who  died in 2017. The 12 tracks feature her in duo, trio and quartet sessions with guitarists Russell Malone, and Anthony Wilson, pianist and arranger Alan Broadbent, bassists John Clayton and Christian McBride and drummer Jeff Hamilton, while a final session features guitarist Marc Ribot, violinist Stuart Duncan, accordionist Randall Krall bassist Tony Garnier (from Dylan’s band) and drummer Karriem Riggins.

In addition to the Dylan title track, the album features a strong selection of standards, including Vernon Duke’s ‘Autumn In New York’, Irving Berlin’s ‘How Deep Is The Ocean’, Gene Kelley’s ‘Singing In the Rain’ and songs associated with Frank Sinatra and Nat ‘King’ Cole’ performed in her own inimitable classy, and deeply atmospheric style.

The album was finished and produced by Krall in May 2020 and mixed by acclaimed engineer Al Schmitt.
