First ever LUME Fest line-up revealed

Wednesday, May 18, 2016

Details have been divulged regarding the who’s-who at the first ever full-blown LUME summit, which takes place at London’s I’klectik Artlab on Sunday 26 June.

Appearing at this celebration of the creative and mildly-crazed, in reverse order of appearance (but not importance), are Article XI (Mancunian monoliths, led by guitarist Anton Hunter); Blueblut (Austria-based architects of Theremin-throated abstraction); Kjær/Musson/Marshall (titanic twin-sax tempests); Little Church (synth-soldier David Austin Grey’s quintet inspired by the compositions of the Dark Magus and featuring bassist Chris Mapp); Hot Beef Three (Leeds’ very own masterful examiners of mind-meld extemporization); Ant Traditions (a duo of proto-Moomin mischief-makers peddling the playful on guitar and toy pianos) and, finally, Word Of Moth (the improvisatory mother-flip of LUME co-conspirators and saxophonists Cath Roberts and Dee Byrne, joined by the nifty rhythm section of bassist Seth Bennett and drummer Tom Greenhalgh).

Also on hand will be artist Gina Southgate, who’ll be capturing the whole day’s proceedings directly onto canvas, while the drinks will keep flowing (the working week be damned) at the late bar, open after the musical performances.
