Iain Ballamy To Release New Album

Left field British saxophonist Iain Ballamy returns with More Jazz, his first new album in more than three years, released by Basho records on 18 June. Recorded with his group Anorak, featuring pianist Gareth Williams, bassist Orlando Le Fleming and drummer Martin France, the album finds Ballamy returning to his jazz roots, but with a difference. "I’m striving to create a bridge between jazz past and present” he says. “Re-invention is in the true tradition of jazz – the forward momentum that has always kept the music evolving and sounding ‘of its own time’.”
