JAM MUSIC LAB announces three Bechstein scholarships to study in Vienna

The Vienna-based music school will be hosting auditions in 2024 in Manchester for young musicians for three scholarships at the prestigious Carl Bechstein Foundation

The JAM MUSIC LAB Private University offers 4-year bachelor's and 2-year master's programmes in singing, instrumental music, and music production in jazz and contemporary popular music. Recently, it has also introduced a bachelor's program in arts management. The university is located in the Gasometer Music City in Vienna.

The best three applicants will receive one of three exclusive Bechstein Scholarships (covering 100%, 50% and 25% of the tuition fees).

The international team of professors and lecturers at JMLU teaches over 70 artistic disciplines in the two faculties of music and music education (IGP), including singing, guitar, piano, saxophone, trumpet, bass, drums, songwriting, band performance and recording, and composition. The styles covered range from jazz, pop, rock, blues, R&B, hip-hop, alternative, and world music to heavy metal and electronic music.

Prospective candidates should apply now by the deadline of 15 of January via email to uk-auditions@jammusiclab.com providing the following documents:

  • A description or documentation of previous musical experiences and projects, as well as prior musical education.
  • A curriculum vitae
  • An unedited video featuring 2-3 meaningful musical performances by the applicant (preferably a recording of a live performance; professional video quality is not required, mobile phone recordings are sufficient).

AUDITIONS:

From the submissions received by the December deadline, a panel of judges will select finalists who will be invited to the audition.

The auditions will take place on the 5th and 6th of February 2024 in Manchester.
