The jazz radio station will present two days and nights of programmes of music and interviews to celebrate Europe’s biggest outdoor jazz festival which is postponed until 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic

Taking place this Saturday 4 July and Sunday 5 July, on what would have been eighth edition of the Love Supreme Jazz Festival weekend, the Jazz FM’s output will include live recordings of classic performances from over the years including from the likes of George Benson, Caro Emerald, Jamie Cullum, GoGo Penguin, Laura Mvula, Average White Band, Ezra Collective, Mr Jukes and many more.

Running alongside archive performances and interviews will be a series of exclusive lockdown sessions plus a recreation of the festival’s popular opening night DJ party featuring live sets from John Osborne, Anne Frankenstein and Tony Minvielle.

Ciro Romano, Love Supreme Festival Director commented on the broadcast version of the event: “It feels strange to not be in Glynde Place. Any other year we would be getting ready to welcome artists & audiences for another incredible weekend at Love Supreme Festival. However, it has been a real joy working with Jazz FM to take the time to reflect on all the incredible music we’ve had at the festival over the years. We hope that these programmes allow those who’ve been before to remember the good times and those who’ve not made it yet get a taste of just how special the festival has become.”

Nick Pitts, Content Director of Jazz FM: “For the life of Love Supreme, Jazz FM’s listeners - along with the entire of the on-air and backroom team – have looked forward to and enjoyed the delights of a weekend in Glyde Place of live music.  This year, a collective Love Supreme Festival fix was more important than ever, and with our unrivalled archive of interviews and stage recordings that date back to 2013, it made total sense to work closely once again with the festival team to create something rather special as a one off.”
