A host of big names including South African trumpet icon Hugh Masekela, Jools Holland and Jazz Jamaica (pictured) are to appear at next month’s Coventry Jazz Festival, which runs from 22-26 May, joining Randy Brecker, Martin Taylor and many others including Liane Carroll and Alan Barnes.

Reeds player John Surman and organist Howard Moody are also to breeze into the festival which this year celebrates its tenth anniversary. The Coventry Cathedral afternoon concert by Surman and Moody on Saturday 24 May coincides with the release of new ECM album Rain On The Window and marks their return to Coventry for the first time in five years.
