There’s a stellar line-up appearing across three nights in February at this exciting south-coast jazz talent showcase
The south coast-based New Generation Jazz takes over the salubrious surroundings of the Ropetackle Arts venue, Shoreham from 3-5 February 2022 with line-up some of some the UK’s most exciting young jazz bands. The programme includes the kings of new ‘trad’, Kansas Smitty's, led by alto-saxophonist/clarinettist Giacomo Smith with his talent-packed House Band on a double bill with phenomenal BBC Young Jazz Musician Award winning tenorist, Xhosa Cole.
Following this two of the most dynamic young bandleaders appear, with in-demand saxophonist Chelsea Carmichael and bassist Daisy George fronting their own groove-fuelled groups. Two more rising sax stars – Alex Hitchcock with his Dream Band and the Binker Golding Quintet – form a dynamic double bill to close the weekend out.
Dates are: Kansas Smitty's House Band + Xhosa Cole (4 Feb); Chelsea Carmichael + Daisy George (5 Feb) and Alex Hitchcock's Dream Band + Binker Golding Quintet (6 Feb).
