Lola’s Day Off, Pocket Dragon and Emel Michael triple bill at The Forge

Monday, September 21, 2015

Three eclectic emerging fusion bands are set to appear at The Forge in Camden on a contrasting triple bill on 24 September at 7:30pm.

Headliners Lola’s Day Off comprise of PB Underground/Level 42 drummer Pete Ray Biggin, heavy grooving bassist Moyos Dos Santos, energetic alto saxophonist James Gardiner-Bateman, keyboard player Carl Hudson and vocalist Emma Smith. Collectively, the ensemble has toured and performed alongside an array of phenomenal artists such as Amy Winehouse and Chaka Khan and will be performing groove-enthused originals and covers joined by award winning alto saxophonist and rapper Soweto Kinch.

Currently working on their debut EP, Pocket Dragon draw from hip-hip, soul and jazz music. Throughout their set, the band will explore a variety of complimenting styles creatively brought together by a line-up of drummer Callum Green, guitarist Mikayl Dawood, keys player Manley O’Conner and vocalist Emma Barney.

The evening opens with a solo set from the captivating folk-pop singer-songwriter Emel Michael. Having recently had her single ‘Eggshells’ charted at number one in the ReverbNation folk/pop charts, Emel is quickly establishing herself on the cross-genre scene as one to watch.
