Maria Schneider wows Vienne

Maria Schneider began her world tour in the French town of Vienne last night with a superb concert that was received with tumultuous applause. The musicians had arrivied throughout the afternoon to take their place at rehearsal in preparation for a long tour. Bass player Jay Anderson arriving so late that for the sound check a replacement was added just to be safe. Looking incredibly relaxed and full of smiles for her first show, Schneider led the orchestra through six numbers.
