With venues unlikely to reopen for some time yet, Ronnie Scott’s has announced a thrice weekly programme of high-calibre livestreamed gigs at 8pm every Sunday, Monday and Thursday from mid-February onward. Among the many highlights are a whole host of leading UK names including award-winners Xhosa Cole, Alice Zawadzki and Emilia Mårtensson (pictured top), while the National Youth Jazz Orchestra backs several rising stars including guitarist Rosie Frater-Taylor and keyboardist Roella Oloro, while other large ensembles featured include Denny Ilett’s Electric Lady Big Band and Big Band Metheny. The gigs will all be streamed for free via the club’s Facebook page and YouTube channel, with viewers encouraged to donate via by “buying a Ronnie’s Scotch” on the www.ko-fi.com site for the musicians so the club can support the artists.

Manager Fred Nash says “While the club doors are still closed, we’re finding new ways to keep the music playing! We have plenty of live music on offer, with a broad cross-section of vibrant UK jazz talent. The only difference is that it can now be enjoyed from the comfort and safety of your home, with refreshments served from your very own kitchen. So, please follow our social channels, check out the menu, donate what you can, then sit back and wait for delivery – at 8pm every Sunday, Monday and Thursday.”
