Pianist Rob Barron is set to release his new album, From This Moment On, on 2 October on Ubuntu Music, with the record featuring his longtime trio of bassist Jeremy Brown and drummer Josh Morrison.

Inspired by Blue Note piano greats such as Cedar Walton, Wynton Kelly and Sonny Clark, Barron describes the album as “a work that reflects who I am as an artist today. In a departure from my debut album, this recording centres on the piano trio. Now is the time to produce a classic trio recording that reflects my influences and puts me in the piano trio spotlight,” explains Barron. “My playing and arranging style has developed greatly since my debut and I feel energised by the musical bond within the trio, the arrangements and the space I am in as a player.”

Ahead of the album’s release – Barron has shared a new video of his Trio’s take on Duke Ellington’s ‘In A Sentimental Mood’ (watch it below) – while he will be performing a solo piano livestream this coming Friday 7 August at 8pm on behalf of the Global Music Foundation - tickets for the performance can be purchased here www.gmfjazzsummit.com/concerts-online
