Walk of the Ducks is the debut recording by Israeli saxophonist and composer, Asaf Harris and features leading Israeli musicians Nitzan Bar on guitar, Guy Moskovich on piano, Omri Hadani on double bass and David Sirkis on drums.  “In March 2020, when this world crisis started, I decided to temporarily leave my home in NYC and go back to my homeland – Israel. During this time, I experienced some difficulties with my creativity and with my artistic passion,” explains Harris. “Those feelings passed when I decided to record and produce my album with my dear quintet. We have been playing together since 2016 and the relationship is based on a deep connection and friendship.”

Walk of the Ducks is a deeply personal recording and each of nine original compositions has a story behind it. The album title comes from a poignant moment when Harris was breaking up with his girlfriend just before leaving Israel to begin his studies at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York. “We were sitting by the Yarkon River when suddenly a group of five ducks came out of the water and started to march through the streets of Tel Aviv,” says Harris. “At that moment, this unusual phenomenon felt very symbolic.”
