Video of the day: Vertaal share ‘Alcazar’ from new album Paradigm Shifting Extended Edition

Exploding out of London’s globally renowned ‘new jazz’ scene, drummer Ajit Gill and multi-instrumentalist Theo Howarth, a.k.a. Vertaal, have forged a burgeoning reputation for blending jazz spontaneity with broken beats, funk, fusion and more with last year’s groove-heavy debut EP, Paradigm Shifting. Returning with the expanded Paradigm Shifting Extended Edition 2LP, released on 26 March, the duo follow hot on the heels of the likes of Yussef Dayes and Kamaal Williams, with the album packed with punchy, funky grooves and tight interplay between Gill and Howarth throughout.
