Now in its 20th anniversary year, Will Todd’s Mass in Blue is renowned for bringing together jazz and choral music, seamlessly blending big band sounds, jazz solos and expansive layers of voices. Performed on 19 November on the closing night of the EFG London Jazz Festival, the concert at St John's, Smith Square will feature Todd’s ‘Latin Mass’, plus his shorter ‘Jazz Missa Brevis’, with the ensemble exploring a variety of jazz styles.

Performed by the acclaimed Civil Service Choir, the concert will also include leading jazz musicians including soprano Francesca Confortini, pianist Rob Barron, saxophonist Tommy Andrews and the trombonist Tom Green’s Jazz Orchestra, with Todd talking about the compositions between each piece.

The concert also features ‘Songs of Love’ and ‘Amazing Grace’, his arrangement that was commissioned for the inauguration prayer service of President Barack Obama and performed as part of the BBC’s Nelson Mandela Thanksgiving Service.
