Paloma Faith and the Guy Barker Orchestra play Symphonic Grace dates

Friday, August 16, 2013

Trumpeter, bandleader and composer, Guy Barker, sets out with his 42-piece jazz orchestra for the Symphonic Grace tour this October featuring the vocal talents of theatrical jazz-soul crossover singer Paloma Faith and her backing vocalists.

Faith has performed with the Guy Barker orchestra twice at Cheltenham Jazz festival, most recently in May 2012, and at the Barbican in London but never ventured out on a fully-blown tour.

The Symphonic Grace repertoire will include orchestral arrangements of the singer’s original material, including ‘Picking up the Pieces’ and ‘30 Minute Love Affair’, and other songs from her latest, Brit-nominated, album Fall to Grace and a selection of classic jazz ballads. The tour dates will focus on the theatrical side of Paloma Faith’s performance style and colourful costumes, reflecting her love of music and film.

UK dates are: Colston Hall, Bristol (22 Oct); Warwick Arts Centre, Coventry (23 Oct); Barbican Hall, London (24 Oct); Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham (26 Oct); Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool (27 Oct); Bridgewater Hall, Manchester (28 Oct); Ulster Hall, Edinburgh (29 Oct); The Sage, Gateshead (30 Oct).
