Finalists announced for BBC Young Musician Jazz Award

The five finalists for this year’s BBC Young Musician Jazz Award have been announced and include siblings 17-year-old trumpeter Alexandra Ridout and 21-year-old saxophonist/recorder player Tom Ridout; 20-year-old saxophonist Tom Smith; 15-year-old pianist Noah Stoneman and 21-year-old pianist Elliott Sansom.

Pat Metheny announces world tour with Simcock, Oh, Sanchez Quartet

Revered guitarist Pat Metheny has announced a 34-date world tour with his much-talked about new Quartet featuring two rising stars of the international scene – multi-award winning British pianist Gwilym Simcock and acclaimed Malaysian-born, US resident bassist Linda Oh – and longtime drummer/composer Antonio Sanchez.

Dave Liebman lights up The Verdict
