The Guinness Cork Jazz Festival returns for its 44th edition with a wide range of international artists on the Irish Bank Holiday Weekend from the 27-30 October

The Guinness Cork Jazz Festival returns for its 44th edition with a wide range of international artists on the Irish Bank Holiday Weekend from the 27-30 October. Among the highlights are two legendary Brazilian acts, iconic multiinstrumentalist Hermeto Pascoal (pictured) and beloved jazz-funk trio Azymuth, plus the Irish debut performance from exciting Brazilian piano virtuoso Amaro Freitas. Further shows include appearances by Brandee Younger, Jeff Parker X Alabaster dePlume, Andy Sheppard, GoGo Penguin, Seun Kuti & Fela’s Egypt 80, Jazzanova’s live band The Strata Project and revered acoustic guitar pioneer Ralph Towner, all performing at venues around Cork City.

Emerging names on the bill include Laufey Toshín, Fehdah, Bricknasty and the return of Mås Exödus, among many others. Additionally, the Jazz Festival Club at the Metropole Hotel will host a wide range of jazz bands and traditional Irish acts on several stages throughout the hotel, while the Jazz Music Trail spans over 60 Cork venues presenting everything from ska to swing and jazz to brass as the trail leads across every corner of the city.
