Last year's Jazz Sabbath project, which saw keyboardist Adam Wakeman reinterpret Black Sabbath's monumental metal for jazz trio, was a roaring success. This quartet's attempt to do the same for Led Zeppelin sadly falls flat. A pity, as Zep's deceptively swinging, inventive and complex music is an ideal growth medium in which to nurture jazz improvisation. After a great start with the title track, the album goes downhilI, with just the cover of John Paul Jones' enigmatic keys showcase ‘No Quarter’ providing relief. It's the sax that really doesn't work here.
